Ranks

Ranks are earned and kept by how much responsibility an individual takes on within the guild. Leadership roles are demanding and time-consuming and should not be seen in any way as a status or popularity reward. Those with rank higher than verd'ika are expected to not only perform certain sets of guild administrative duty, but to keep order in the guild, respond to issues raised by members and to provide a good example to the guild.

Alor'ad (Captain) guild leader
Ver'alor (Lieutenant) recruitment, activities, external contact, discipline
Ruus'alor (Sergeant) recruitment, activities, external contact
Alor'uus (Corporal) recruitment, activities
Verd'ika (Private) guild member

Expectations

The Mandalorian Protectors are a guild with very high expectations toward its membership. Our vode are the jatnese be te jatnese of Starsider's Mandalorian roleplayers and we have a well deserved reputation for being the very best at what we do. We are by design and purpose a small guild, which makes the following expectations absolutely crucial.
  • All members must actively participate in the guild.
This is not optional. Those who do not spend a portion of their in game time interacting ICly with the guild and participating in guild activity will be placed on inactive status and eventually will be purged from the roster unless leadership has been notified that an individual needs to go inactive for personal reasons.

  • Guild comes first.
This is not optional. Aside from real life, which of course trumps all things digital, guild activities should pre-empt external activities. Those who miss guild activities habitually while they are in game will be spoken to. If it continues after the reminder, those who continue to miss guild activities while in game will be warned. If a warning is not sufficient, it will be assumed that the person is not interested in being part of the guild and they will be removed.

  • All members must learn and speak Mando'a while in character as appropriate.
This is not optional. There will be no exceptions for any reason. If you can not learn to understand and speak the language, you cannot play the role of a Protector. Only Protectors may be members of the guild.

  • If it's spacial, it's in character.
While there is some small amount of wiggle room, you are expected to roleplay as a member of the Mandalorian Protectors and this means staying in character where people can see and hear you. If you are out of character, make sure your roleplay tag is down and your LFG tag is up so that people know you are OOC.

  • Know your role.
There is not much wiggle room on this one. As a Mandalorian Protector, you are expected to know the basics of Mandalorian culture, understand and observe the Resol'nare, behave within the strictures of Mandalorian honor and to know and roleplay within the boundaries of your background.

  • Know and respect your leaders.
No Exceptions. Your Alor'ad is not your only leader. Know who your leaders are, know what they do and give them your respect. ALL of the guild leadership regardless of rank designation functions under the same assumption of authority. If a Ruus'alor asks you to do (or stop doing) something, don't run to the Alor'ad to confirm it.

  • Use the forums.
No Exceptions. Lurk if you like, but all Protectors must be registered on our forums and are expected to read them at least once a play-day. All of our story arcs, a large number of our activities and a lot of issues and input will be posted on the forums. If you do not read them or use them to voice your input, you are likely to miss out on a lot of what the guild is doing.
